From Karenjit Kaur To Sunny Leone
Sunny Leone’s real name is Karenjit Kaur Vohra and she was born to a Sikh family in Ontario. Before stepping into the adult entertainment industry at the age of 19, she was studying to be a nurse and simultaneously working as an exotic dancer with the name ‘Sunny’.
She took up modelling on a friend’s suggestion before she was named the Penthouse Pet of the Year in 2003. The magazine’s founder suggested she added ‘Leone’ to her name. And the rest is history

From Bakery To Bollywood
Before moving to India and making her Bollywood debut with Pooja Bhatt’s film ‘Jism 2’, Sunny Leone used to do odd jobs to make a living. The ‘Ragini MMS 2’ starlet worked at a German bakery in the United States when she was 15 years old. She also sold lemonade at stands and shovelled ice during winter to earn her pocket money in high school.
And that’s not all. She has also worked at a tax and retirement firm, and soon chartered her way from ‘bakery’ to ‘Bollywood’ and ended up bagging coveted roles in Bollywood films.

Sunny: A Reality TV Star
Sunny’s foray into Bollywood began when she participated in the 5th season of Salman Khan’s reality show ‘Bigg Boss’ which made her a household name in India.
One of the highlights of her ‘Bigg Boss’ stint was her sizzling dance on a popular Hindi number, ‘Ye Mera Deewanapan Hai’ which set the TRP charts on fire.
In one of the episodes, Bollywood producer Mahesh Bhatt entered the Bigg Boss house and expressed his keen interest in working with the Canadian actress. In an unprecedented move in Bollywood, the director discussed a movie deal with Sunny on National Television and the latter accepted the offer.

The Secret Behind The Name ‘Sunny’
In a Netflix documentary, ‘Mostly Sunny’, Karenjit revealed that her stage name ‘Sunny’ actually belonged to her brother, Sunny Singh Vohra.
The name ‘Sunny’ popped into her head when she had just entered the adult entertainment industry. She then felt obligated to tell her brother about the same who didn’t have a problem with Karenjit using ‘Sunny’ as her stage name.Source
